On Thursday 13th May, our 1 Beech class headed off on a history trip into town. First stop was Dublin Castle where students got the chance to wander round and take in the beauty of the building. Together, we heard about the history of the castle and filled in worksheets as we went from room to room learning about the different features of the castle. We were lucky enough to have the castle to ourselves for the visit, along with the courtyard which we got to explore afterwards.
After lunch outside, our afternoon stop was Dublinia Museum where we went on to learn more about Viking and Medieval Dublin. Students were brought on a guided walking tour of the streets of Dublin where we saw some Medieval buildings and also visited the Dubh Linn garden covering the ‘Black Pool’ where Dublin originally got its name. The day was finished off with a visit through the exhibition in Dublinia. Everyone really enjoyed the day out.
