Last week, staff and students of TCS enjoyed Active and Wellbeing week. We all focused on how we can bring more activity into our daily lives and each year group got the opportunity to get active and enjoy the outdoors. The highlight of the week was a hike for each year group as students went to either the Hellfire Club or the Sugarloaf. It was an extra special outing for many of our students as it was their first school trip with their year group. For our senior students, it was so nice to see a return to school outings. The weather stayed fine and we were so lucky to be able to get out, enjoy the fresh air, catch up with friends and get some exercise too.
The week also allowed us to reflect on our eating habits with new meals and snacks available in the canteen and a competition for students to come up with a healthy recipe to be featured on our school lunch menu. Our Home Ec students also enjoyed some practical classes that focused on preparing healthy meals.
The week also gave students an opportunity to sign up to some yoga and gave them a chance to slow down and focus on their wellbeing. It was a lovely week for all and has definitely got us thinking about keeping these positive habits going throughout the New Year.
