Three TCS teams comprising TY and 5th-year students had the honour of filling the first three positions in a national pilot competition run by the Goethe Institut to promote the German language through business.
Led by their German teacher, Ms Knipschild, the students developed and marketed a product and presented their collaborative projects to the German Ambassador in Ireland, Deike Potzel. The competition was also supported by the German-Irish Chamber of Commerce, Bayer, Seimens and Allianz.
Joseph Collins, Wealth Ime Kadiri, Conor Farrell and Dylan McKeon, all TY students, claimed the first prize of €500. The second prize of €300 also went to a TY student team, Andrew Grant, Adrian Jokiel, Peter O’ Brien, Cain O’ Driscoll and Cian O’ Brien. A fifth-year team of Eoin Scanlon, Matteo Snijders, Jamie Lynch-Bell and Marshall Robinson won the third prize of €200.
Well done to Ms. Knipschild and all of the students involved for such a fantastic achievement in a national competition; we are very proud of you!
