Tallaght Community School had the honour of welcoming Republic of Ireland Captain Katie McCabe to our school on November 7th. Katie was so kind and giving of her time to the TCS students, relaying lots of inspiring stories from the football field.
Career highlights that Katie shared were qualifying to attend the first world cup next summer in Australia for the women's football national team and signing her first professional contract with Arsenal.
Aside from her huge work on the field with Ireland and Arsenal, Katie is a brand ambassador with Dove.
Republic of Ireland Football Captain, Katie McCabe and sister Lauryn McCabe (2nd year student at TCS) have joined forces with Dove to launch the second year of the Dove Self-Esteem Project in the Republic of Ireland. The study revealed that 70% of girls and 62% of boys in Ireland have opted out of extracurricular activities and key life events because of the way they have felt about their appearance. Katie and the Dove team delivered a presentation to all 1st and 2nd year students around the important topic of body self esteem.
