On Wednesday 6th October the book 'Resilience and Me' was officially launched. The book is a collection of over 50 entries from our students, sharing their stories of resilience during a difficult time in their lives. The book resonates with young and old and it is hoped that the book will support other young people experiencing hardship in their lives. All proceeds from the book go to two very worthy charities; WALK and Jigsaw.
The book launch took place in Tallaght Stadium where the students and contributors to the book were joined by their families. It was a fantastic opportunity to recognize the great bravery of these students in sharing their stories but also their huge achievement in becoming published writers.
The afternoon kicked off with a chance to mingle and chat whilst enjoying some lovely food and treats from Dominoes Pizza and Offbeat Donuts. During the launch itself, we heard some lovely words from our Principal Mr. Lynch and Chairperson of the Board of Management, Mick Duff. Ms. Martin and Ms. O Shaughnessy then told us of how a simple homework essay assignment during lockdown turned into the book publication that we have today. The book was officially launched by past pupil and Shamrock Rovers player Aaron Greene as he shared stories of his time in TCS and what resilience means to him.
The afternoon finished off with a presentation of certificates to all students who contributed to the book in recognition of their great achievement. It was an event that everyone will remember for years to come.
