TY Bridge To College Course

Bridge to College is a course held by Trinity College which helps students develop their computer and presentation skills. It takes place over a week and is held in two locations; Jobstown and the City Centre. I recently got the opportunity to take part in this course in Citywise in Jobstown. This year, 24 students from Transition year in our school were lucky enough to secure a place on the course. We went on the week of 13th-16th of October. While there we learned how best to work in teams.

My experience of going to Citywise was amazing. I had so much fun. I got the chance to make new friends. Everyday there was a different task. I learned so many new skills. I learned how to edit videos, how to present in front of people, how to take videos and got the opportunity to work as part of a team. I also learned how to compromise with other people and learn from their ideas. Sometimes things didn't go to plan but we made the most of it and we enjoyed the challenge. We made a short film about a topic of our choice. We chose to make it about a missing person. We also made a TV and a Radio advertisement for new inventions. We demonstrated more organisational skills when we got to organise a fake fundraiser for a charity. I really enjoyed my experience in the Bridge to College course and I would anyone who has the opportunity to go.
