TY Students and Enterprise German

20-December-21
TY Students and Enterprise German

For the second time, Tallaght Community School participated in the project ‘Unternehmen Deutsch – Enterprise German’, and for the second time, our students claimed the first prize! TY students Leah Halpin, Robyn Hooper, Ella Monks and Shannon Seery developed an emergency asthma inhaler dispenser (ANC) in collaboration with the company Bayer. As part of their project, they produced a radio spot in German to advertise their invention.

The project ‘Enterprise German’ is organised by the Goethe Institut Irland. It aims to bridge the gap between German and business and highlights the importance of the German language in the Irish and international job market. As part of the project, students linked up with a partner company and interviewed representatives of the company. This gave students an insight of what it is like to work for a global company.

For our young entrepreneurs Leah, Robyn, Ella and Shannon, learning German has already paid off as they won €500 between them. It’s a great achievement! We are very proud of you! Herzlichen Glückwunsch!
