This year the Transition years took part in a Trinity College Study Skills Workshop. This workshop took place every Monday to replace work experience that many students could not find due to the Covid-19 restrictions in place. The course ran from the 9th of November up until the 18th of January. The course was run by Becky Long who works with the Trinity Access Program. Each week we focused on something new that could help us with studying in the future. Some weeks there was also guest speakers who came in to talk about their experiences in college and what they learned from it.
The course helped to teach us skills that we would use going into senior cycle and after school. We learned things that will be very useful like new study methods to use and how to find relevant information when researching different topics. I enjoyed this course as I learned a lot of things that you usually would not usually get time to learn during school. I think learning the different skills will help me especially when I study for exams in the future. Now that I have these skills, I think I would be more willing and motivated to study than before.
