I was on the Jigsaw programme this year during TY. I joined the programme because I liked what Jigsaw was about. Jigsaw is a national centre for youth mental health, they support young people who are struggling with their mental health.
Joining Jigsaw’s peer education programme, I would learn more about mental health and learning the importance of taking care of our mental health. Our tutors taught us how mental health affects us in our everyday life. Each week we learned more things about mental health. At the end of the programme we gave a presentation about mental health to students in our school who were in 1st to 3rd year.
Doing this programme, I made more friends from other schools and I even became closer with the friends from my school that did the programme with me. I built more confidence and improved my public speaking skills. I acquired more knowledge doing this programme and I am very grateful for having the opportunity to do this programme during TY. And if I had an opportunity like this again I will definitely do it again.
