During my time in TY I took part in many activities. One of the things I enjoyed most was running the school shop. Our school shop is stocked with all the stationary supplies that the students require, at very reasonable prices. Mr. Morris over sees the running of the shop and he gets all the supplies.
The shop opens every morning, break time and during lunch.
My duties included opening and closing the shop, stock balancing, serving customers and balancing cash. I made sure the best-selling items were kept in stock at all times. I got to know students from different years and I was a face that the younger students recognised if they need help around the school.
Running the school shop gave me confidence and the insight of how a small business is run.
I think all future TY students should take part in running the school shop or get involved in as much activities as possible.
