Congratulations! As a parent / guardian of a pupil in Tallaght Community School you are automatically a member of the Parents’ Association.
The people currently involved in the running of the association would be delighted to welcome all new members to bring new ideas and experience to an already active group of people working together for the best possible education for their children.
The Parents' Association works with the Principal, Staff and the Board of Management to build effective partnership between home and school. It has been shown that the better the quality of the relationship between home and school, the more likely children are to do have a sense of belonging in their school community and improves educational attainment.
The Parents’ Association meet on six occasions in an academic year. The meeting generally lasts one hour.
There are many opportunities to volunteer in simple yet valuable ways. Parent involvement from the beginning will help you become familiar with the TCS faculty and administration, gain a deeper understanding of the school’s educational goals, and have a clearer picture of your child’s experience.
Below is a 'sample' of the works of the Parents Association.
- School Christmas Fundraiser
- Clothing Drive
- School uniform and old book donation drive
- Assisting at coffee mornings and school events
We would appreciate your assistance and hope to see you soon at our next meeting.
