Student Support Team

The student support team is part of the student support system in a school. That system encompasses a range of supports that cater for the learning, social, emotional and behavioural needs of students.

In Tallaght Community School the support team meets weekly and is made up of the following personnel:

  • Principal
  • Deputy Principals
  • Guidance Counsellor
  • Chaplain
  • Home School Community Liaison Teacher
  • Special Educational Needs Coordinator
  • School Completion Coordinator
  • Behaviour for Learning Teacher
  • Yearheads (attend meetings as needed)

At these meetings we discuss the needs of students and look at ways to address those needs. We coordinate the supports available for students within the school. We also work with outside agencies that we feel may be of assistance to our students and their families.

Some of the agencies we link with include:

Parents and guardians of students are welcome to contact members of the team to seek support as the need arises.
